In late 1980s, Before “Kavalan” species were born, the fish pet industry in Taiwan were wildly into cross-breeding fish saga since Red Parrot(also known as Blood Parrot) brought the hybrid fish market to a whole new peak level. Through years of experimenting, fish breeding researchers have discovered many other species such as: One Finnage Red Parrot, Unicorn Red Parrot, King Kong Parrot etc. With the rapidly increasing supplies of parrotfish, hence “The Red Parrot’s Standardization” was developed in respect to classify and grade all the available parrotfish in the market based on their appearances, ratio of length, and colorization. During the era, Kavalan species were founded and classified as one of the highest quality among them, typically reddish and grow majestically when it reached mature stage. The classification and grading method is still being adopted by today's fish pet industry, the legendary Kavalan species have never failed the quality test nor disappoint the ornamental fish collector, some call it “True love at first sight!”
